Perhaps they think that if you install it for them you may well see something on there that will make you realise that you are missing out and should go back to 'd troof'. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JWs on Friends Reunited
by solo infor those who have not heard of it friends reunited is a web site where you can look up you old schools and and see what all your old school mates are doing, you can post your own profile and let everyone else know what you are doing.
well i have checked out several schools where i know jws went and have found several of them have posted there, some of them have also included their profile to let everyone know what they have done since leaving school, jobs, where they have moved to and if you got married and had kids.. however, not one single one of them has stated that they are jws???
isn't this supposed to be the most important thing in their life, would it not merit a mention, surely they are not ashamed, wouldn't it be a good opportunity to witness?

Yeah I agree. I went to a few schools so I looked them all up and because I went to school such a long time ago I was having difficulty remembering the names. I thought any JW's at the school I would pick up on because they would mention it - but no!
Maybe they are embarrassed about it!
I would have thought that most with a strong conviction about anything would include it in their notes. -

Actually I've heard that Manchester is a wonderful place - why do you think I've decided to spend the day after my birthday there?
Not my actual birth DAY - that I will be spending in London - enough said?! -

Yeah, get on the train to Manchester if you like rain, poverty, old industrial, grimy, dansk (oh I mean 'dank') buildings and where they definitely don't speak the Queen's English - you wont be able to understand a word.
Oh they do have theatres - showing boring old stuff that has left London years ago!
Oh they do have houses - if you have more than one note in your pocket you could probably buy two! (Terraced houses with no front garden and an outside loo are a speciality)
Don't be put off by all the flat caps and every one taking a whippet for a walk.
Stay in London of course - one of the greatest CAPITAL cities in the whole world!
If time is short then one thing is a must - a trip on the London Eye. It's on the South Bank opposite the Houses of Parliament (that's where the whole country is ruled from). The views are spectacular, stretching from Canary Wharf in the east, up the Thames to the west, and all the glittering West End to the North.
I could go on for ever but I'll let others leave some more suggestions.
That doesn't include one biased northerner who doesn't know what he's on about - you know who you are! -

Did you,or anyone in your Hall come to Meeting Drunk?Anything funny happen?
by mama1119 inwe used to have this guy that came to bookstudy drunk and he would mumble all through it, and fall asleep and wake up yelling an answer.
i never went to meeting drunk, but i certainly drank a few to get me through sometimes, took the edge off the continual damnation spewing from the stage.
another "sister" used put kahlua in her coffee cup in service.

Yes indeed.
One of our circuit overseers wife quite often missed the meetings, no one knew why, we just presumed she wasn't very well.
One day I had to pick the circuit overseer himself up to drive him to the circuit assembly at Bowes Road, North London. He was not ready when I got there to pick him up, he couldn't find his keys and was acting in a strange manner.
Shortly after I left the org, I found out that he had to step down from his 'privilages' as both he and his wife were alcoholics! -

What were your seating habits at the hall?
by JH ini would always leave a space between me and someone else.
i hated when someone was seated right next to me.
didn't feel comfortable.. i also loved sitting in back of a tall person, that would hide everything, like that i could close my eyes and the speaker wouldn't notice.....lol.

Seems like most on this thread sat at the back of the hall - me included!
Maybe there is a message there somewhere. Anyway, my first wife would refuse to sit anywhere except the back row - fine by me. However when she didn't go on occassions I would sit in the front row to see what it was like. I hated it coz I had to pay attention and I got a neck ache!
It was great sitting in the back row, great for quick getaways when I didn't want to hang around and talk to anyone. -

But what if they're right............still the Truth?
by ScoobySnax inthis will probably apply to few here, but to me it'll always be that way.
it's the what if syndrome maybe, but it's always there.
i still think that as a core belief system the jw's have it right, even if their delivery isn't always right.

Yeah I must admit that sometimes I feel the same as you - 'what if?'
What if Armageddon is coming soon - should I hurry up and get back in?
Then common sense and reality sets in - no way have they got the 'troof'. -

For the British types-Soccer
by JWdaughter inthe only sport i ever played competitively was soccer(football), and i can thank my non-jw dad for that.
i still dont' get the excitement over the soccer games, teams etc.
it seems even nuttier than ours about baseball and football and ours is pretty extreme.
